CFDA Awards 2014

The CFDA Awards is one of the biggest nights on the fashion calendar and 2014 did not disappoint!  It is tradition for many of the designers to arrive with one of their favourite muses on their arm.  Rihanna ensured all eyes were on her as she arrived with Adam Selman, which despite featuring 216,000 Swarovski Crystals was completely sheer.  Meanwhile, Blake Lively looked beautiful as she arrived on the arm of Michael Kors.

A few outfits just didn’t do it for me, here’s a look at my worst dressed….Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen just looked a little glum and swamped.  Marion Cotillard chose a dress & heels by Dior Couture while Iman’s outfit looked like it didn’t fit her.  Lupita Nyong’o, who normally looks gorgeous, didn’t on this occasion.  She chose an outfit by Suno. Rihanna wore a custom-made dress designed by Adam Selman, for me it’s a NO NO NO!! But I thought her makeup looked beautiful!  She did scoop the award for ‘Fashion Icon’. I get that she pushes the boundaries of fashion, but since when is it okay to have everything on show??!

On the other hand, there were some who got it soooo right!!

Olivia Palermo wore an Ann Taylor top & skirt, Rachel Roy looked beautiful in floral.  Karlie Kloss wore a gown by Band Of Outsiders & Naomi Campbell was stunning in a floor length silver metalic gown.  Jessica Stam was beautifully elegant in white!!

Emmy Rossum wore one of my favourite gowns of the night by J. Mendel and Joan Smalls wore a gown by Prabal Gurung.  Alessandra Ambrosio was fabulous in red and my girl Blake Lively wore a dress by my favourite designer, Michael Kors.  I loved Jenna Lyons casual look.

Naomi and Tyson Beckford looked gorgeous and Tom Ford received a Lifetime Achievement Award!!….Naomi and Rihanna looked like they were having a good time!!Fotor0603115311
